Five Fish Foundation is a unique organization in southeastern South Carolina in that no other organizations in our area exist to provide scholarships for therapies and other programs to individuals with special needs over the age of 18.  We are tackling the opportunity gap for individuals with special needs by supporting people of all ages, as well as their families.  We recognize that when there is a family member with special needs, the entire family feels the strain.   Currently, Five Fish Foundation serves the special needs population in Charleston Berkeley, and Dorchester counties in South Carolina.

In January 2019, a small group of individuals joined together with a common vision to support and strengthen the special needs community.  We are community leaders, we are parents and family members of individuals with special needs, we are entrepreneurs, we are nurses and doctors, but mostly we are concerned citizens committed to creating a more complete support network for these individuals and families that will help now, and in the future.  We immediately began planning a Charter Donor Campaign in order to establish and grow our donor base.  Using the unusual grant received in the amount of $15,000, we have embarked on a fund-raising event on June 14, 2019, with the hopes of receiving donations in the amount of $50,000 so that we may begin awarding scholarships to families in need as early as Fall 2019.

By being able to grow and develop our donor base, working to establish a solid pattern of giving, we will secure funds to provide scholarship opportunities to individuals with special needs for now and in the future. The FFF is committed to maximizing each and every dollar so that it gets to those in need.  We are driven by volunteerism and sound business practices which, means we can operation on less overhead then most non-profit organizations who are full of paid labor.

All Board activity is focused on establishing and growing our donor base. We are 100% donor-funded, and we are thankful and fortunate to be a part of a very generous community.  We are focused on achieving our mission and we recognize that much needs to be done to strengthen and support our mission in the Lowcountry area of South Carolina.
